Microplasma oxidation

"Sibspark" Ltd. is an innovation scientific production enterprise promoting in the market its own developments in the field of microarc metal treatment. This company was established in 2006 by Mamaev Anatolii Ivanovich, who is, at present, a professor and Doctor of Chemical Sciences, an academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences and an author of 300 scientific works, monographs, and more than 20 patents. Microarc oxidation allows obtaining coatings on components made of aluminium-, magnesium-, titanium-, and zirconium-based alloys intended for various purposes: wear-resistant, heat-resistant, corrosion-resistant, resistant to fretting corrosion, dielectric, decorative, sublayers for polymer materials.

Microplasma oxidation

Microplasma oxidation (the other names are microarc (MAO), anode-sparkle, plasmoelectrolytic oxidation) is one of the most promising methods of treatment of the material surface.

The essence of the method consists in the following when a high-density current flows through the metal-electrolyte interface, there appear conditions when, the stress, at the interface becomes higher than its dielectric strength, which results in microplasma discharges with high local temperatures and pressures.

The microplasma discharges lead to the formation of a coating layer consisting of oxidized forms of the elements of the base metal and the electrolyte components. Depending on the microplasma oxidation regime and the electrolyte composition one can produce ceramic coatings with unique characteristics and a broad application spectrum. More about method >>

Advantages of our technologies

  • High efficiency of equipment;
  • Low manufacturing cost of coatings;
  • Treatment of complex geometry components including the inside tube surfaces;
  • An area of treated components ranging from square millimeters to meters;
  • Use of ecologically friendly solutions;
  • Absence of harmful emissions into the atmosphere;
  • Rendering a surface several functional characteristics simultaneously;
  • Fitting equipment into available technological lines;
  • No special preparation of the surface is required.

The company offers enterprises solutions on the MAO technology applications.
