A sublayer for subsequent coloring

<< Ready solutions for enterprises on the application of the MAO technology

A sublayer for subsequent coloring«Sibspark» Ltd, has been carrying out treatment of aluminium parts for subsequent coloring since 1998. The company treats a wide range of cases and other products from aluminium (over 80 items) for the Tomsk plant of electric motor drives (a «Transneft» affiliation). The size of the parts treated vary from 0.1 to 250 dm2.

  • The purposes of the coatings are:
    • to produce a sublayer for subsequent coloring with polymer dyes;
    • to ensure protection against corrosion;
    • to give a product a decorative look.

    In the case of subsequent coloring, the coating porosity, which achieves 30-40 %, as well as the presence of the gradient layer at the oxide-metal interface ensure a strong adhesion of the polymer with the metal. Here the MAO technology can replace the conventional processes of phosphating, chromating and aluminium oxidation.

  • The advantages are:
    • a smaller manufacturing cost;
    • a great dispersibility of the electrolyte (it is possible to coat narrow openings);
    • better adhesion of a subsequent layer;
    • high efficiency;
    • ecological safety.

The above services are rendered to Tomsk leading innovation enterprises, e.g. the scientific-production company «Micran» (communication devices) and «Elesi» (automation of technological processes).

MAO application for producing sublayers is rather promising in many other branches of industry: automobile manufacture, aircraft construction, shipbuilding, etc.
